Grow Eternal Perspective

Our Life on this earth

is just the title page of eternity.

One day, the story He is writing

will unfold with glorious clarity and understanding-

and we will rejoice in God’s amazing Love!

eternal perspective

 It’s all about perspective.

Perspective-2

C.S. Lewis says, “Pain is God’s megaphone to get our attention!”  It certainly does grab our attention and we grapple with questions like, “If God is so good, why does He let bad things happen?”  and  “Where is God when it hurts?”

When I lost my mom and daughter to cancer, I realized I didn’t have a very strong EP. (Eternal Perspective)  I was a Christian but most of my focus and loves were wrapped up in this life.  Heaven/Eternity seemed far away, somewhat surreal, and I wanted the “good life” now.

I started reading my Bible looking at the full message- somehow I had glossed over the suffering and pain Jesus promised would come to all.  I began to see that we are frail and He is strong, we are broken and He is healer, we are astranged and He is Redeemer!

We have to begin to view our life as a dot on the never-ending line of eternity!

I started reading Joni Erikson Tada.  I wanted to learn from people who were still in love with Jesus and pursuing Him even though their lives on this earth didn’t look very appealing on this side of heaven.

I devoured books by C.S. Lewis, Hannah Hurnard, and Randy Alcorn! My EP started expanding exponentially!

When I get discouraged or wrestle with depression, I know I need to get back in the Word of God and get an EPA. (eternal perspective adjustment) I’ve found it’s the only way I can live!

Hi, I’m Cindy- 35 years of “livin” with my prince charming, Jeff. I’m a home maker, not a house wife, parent of 7, memory maker, mama bear, Nana to 11 & counting, Pastor’s wife and I’m daily amazed by the depths of God’s love.

I love reading, home schooling, encouraging others, playing the piano, worshiping, dating my husband, and planning parties and retreats for our clan. Someday, I really want a horse and learn to play the cello and viola.
