The Lord is near to all who are brokenhearted

and from His fullness we have all received grace upon grace!

grace5

Just a few days ago, we received gut-wrenching news, that our 11 year old nephew had died in a tragic accident.  So many thoughts are swirling in my head and heart.  But one thought is louder and clearer than the rest.

We need Jesus– in the good times but especially in the bad, tragic, sorrowful times.  I wrote this poem, crying out in my heart, for Jesus to draw near.  After I wrote this, I was struck with that it’s a mutual movement: we move and He moves even closer.  The scripture says, “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.”  There is no other place we can be when we are facing the worst “life” throws at us. We need His peace and presence and He is quick to move in with us as long as we need Him.   He is our Rock.  Thank you for all your prayers.

Draw Near Us

Emmanuel- God with us all

Surround, bend down, draw near

Wrap your arms ‘round me

Dispel my every fear.

*

*

Prince of Peace- I need You

Speak to the storms of life

The winds and waves obey You

Deliver me from strife.

*

*

Everlasting Father-

Comfort me, your child

Speak your tender mercies

Help me through this trial.

*

*

Light of my World,

Dispel the darkness, flooding now my soul

Illuminate life more clearly

Deliver, make me whole.

*

*

Jesus, Savior, Lamb of God,

You understand my pain

Hold my heart and make me breathe,

Help me feel again.

*

*

Shepherd of my weary soul,

Guide me to your secret place

Make me rest- lay all care down

Safely held by faithful grace.

*

*

Wonderful Way-maker, Redeemer of my World

Come make sense of chaos

Anchor me in timeless truth

Your loving care is endless.

Jesus’  love is our AMAZING Surprising UNENDING Treasure!!!!

    Without the neverending love of Jesus, life would be unbearable. Weeping with you and your loved ones, Cindy, thanking God that He doesn’t leave us without His Comforter. {{{<3}}}

That was a beautiful tribute to anyone leaning on the Lord for comfort Cindy. We never see the complete picture and we wont until the end, but as I always tell my kids “God sees around the corner and we dont,” so we have to have that peace that He is our deliverer and trust in His perfect timing. Hugs to you and the family

I think of a line from an old song- I have found a place where I can hide- it’s safe inside- His arms of love. Thanks Rita- may you know His peace and presence in abundance. Hugs back at you! 🙂

[panel style=”default” title=”About Cindy” text_align=”left”]Jeff & Cindy

Hi, I’m Cindy- 35 years of “livin” with my prince charming, Jeff. I’m a home maker, not a house wife, parent of 7, memory maker, mama bear, Nana to 11 & counting, Pastor’s wife and I’m daily amazed by the depths of God’s love.

I love reading, home schooling, encouraging others, playing the piano, worshiping, dating my husband, and planning parties and retreats for our clan. Someday, I really want a horse and learn to play the cello and viola.
