Thanks Giving: Get Your Praise on!

Those magic word….

 “Please and Thank you.”

It’s such a drain being around people who are grumpy, grumbling complainers.

Some people are “naturally” more effusive and outspoken but I believe an “ATTITUDE OF GRATITUDE”  is taught- not caught.

[Tweet “We must #cultivate and #attitude of #gratitude. #thankfulness”]

x

If we are modeling thankfulness and praise, our children will begin to mirror that attitude. If we are mumbling, grumbling, and modeling all kinds of rumbling, our children will pick up that tendency. In fact, I’d say if our children grow up to be negative, complaining, unthankful adults- we didn’t do our job as parents.

s

I try to remember to go to God’s spiritual closet when I’m really down in the dumps.  He has a warehouse of spiritual gifts and outfits that will equip us to transcend and overcome the pits of this life!  I open the doors and see that beautiful garment of praise, the oil of joy for mourning, a belt of truth, the garment of love, and the good news shoes for my feet.

[Tweet “God has free #gifts and #garments to clothe us in His #beauty and #praise. “]

*

Even when I don’t feel like getting dressed for the day, I can make myself exchange my draggin, saggin, “feeling sorry for myself” clothes and exchange them  for His glorious, transforming, beautifying garments that cover my inadequacies and tendencies toward depression.

s

 Now that’s Designer Quality Clothing!

Today- and every day- let us put on the GARMENT OF PRAISE for any spirit of heaviness.

garment of praise

Let us lift up glad voices because the Lord is good and His mercy endures forever.  LET US GIVE THANKS IN ALL THINGS because NOTHING can separate us from His wonderful love.

LET US REJOICE in His steadfast love and His mercies which are new every morning.  LET US CELEBRATE He has given us freely His own dear Son to redeem us and bring us back to Him!

[Tweet “I will bless the Lord with my whole #heart- His #praise will continually be in my mouth!”]

HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!

I love this!! Hey…I painted a yellow slicker for a friend of mine years ago who wanted me to paint ” Our God Reigns” on it..he was SUCH a character. He was loud and very unique. I couldn’t believe it when I saw this comic and remembered him.
you really do radiate thankfulness Cindy. I have been praying for you and the family.
    hugs.

Can I win the prize? I was up and out early this morning. Got soaked with all of the heavy fog. I didn’t have the yellow rain gear, but I did wear my garment of praise!

Thanks so much for your wonderful insight once again Cindy. It made me count my many many blessings and to thank Him for them all. So many times I tend to get wrapped up in everyday problems and forget that He has them all figured out before I can even name them. I know that you have faced your share of heartaches, but instead of making you weak, He has given you extra strength to carry on. As I said before Cindy,….when I grow up, I want to be just like you. Good memories that I will always cherish

Thank you, Cindy, for the encouraging words for our Thanksgiving season. That garment of praise shouldn’t be kept secret, for sure, since we all need it! We had such good news last night that made me weep for joy. Our grandson Alex has been officially declared free of the cancer he’s been toughing through with surgeries and chemo all summer. Just in time for Thanksgiving – Praise the Lord in joyful numbers! I’m also thanking God for a special friend in you, my dear! <3

    Cindy,
I love what you said about children and how an attitude of gratitude is taught and not caught. I enjoyed this blog as always. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving! Dave, Evan, and I attended CCC last Sunday. We were really impressed with the warm, inviting environment. Evan really enjoyed the nursery as well. We will see you this Sunday! We have been praying for Thomas and your family. Take care!!

Think I’m going to copy that verse on a big sign that also says “GARMENT OF PRAISE” & hang it in my closet!
Will probably eve make those decisions of what to wear come more easily!

So thankful for you & yours, Cindy!

[panel style=”default” title=”About Cindy” text_align=”left”]Jeff & Cindy

Hi, I’m Cindy- 35 years of “livin” with my prince charming, Jeff. I’m a home maker, not a house wife, parent of 7, memory maker, mama bear, Nana to 11 & counting, Pastor’s wife and I’m daily amazed by the depths of God’s love.

I love reading, home schooling, encouraging others, playing the piano, worshiping, dating my husband, and planning parties and retreats for our clan. Someday, I really want a horse and learn to play the cello and viola.
