Is Everything Sad Coming Untrue?

SAD1

Does sadness ever come calling? Sadness can settle in on me like fog settles into the low places in the morning; banished only by the Son who has the power to dispel it.

[Tweet “The #Son is the #Light of the world- #darkness cannot #overcome it. #Victory”]

s

When I first saw The Lord of the Rings, by Tolkien, I was enthralled by parallel theme of their journey to ours.  I ached with Frodo’s burden, the sadness and destruction of their world, the fellowship of suffering…. And then the poignant moment when there is hope and Sam wraps up in words- the question and longing hope of all mankind….

d

Just as I asked when I first understood the Good News of Jesus Christ- Sam ask with bewilderment and joy-

“Is everything sad going to come untrue?”

That powerful thought is  the hope in every heart

and there is One who is making it reality-

His name is Jesus- Faithful and True!

Jesusnew

The last book says, “New Living Translation (©2007) Rev. 21:5
And Jesus, the one sitting on the throne said, “Look, I am making everything new!” And then he said to me, “Write this down, for what I tell you is trustworthy and true.”

Jesus said- “Yes- write this down!”

So I did.

Note to self: Cindy, hang onto this truth!

Jesus said, He’s making everything new! By making all things new- He is making every sad thing come untrue!

– loneliness & isolation  √

-divorce & broken relationships √

-anxiety & depression √

– identity confusion √

-rejection and prejudice √

-anger & rage √

-injustice of every kind √

and of course- the last enemy to be defeated- physical death!    √√√

DNA restored, new bodies, new minds,

no more death, sickness, blindness, deafness, disabilities-

Only abilities and possibilities in the marvelous love of God.

Surprising Treasures:  2So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown a perishable body, it is raised an imperishable body;43it is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power;44it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body. If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body.45So also it is written, “The first MAN, Adam, BECAME A LIVING SOUL.” The last Adam became a life-giving spirit.46However, the spiritual is not first, but the natural; then the spiritual.47The first man is from the earth, earthy; the second man is from heaven.48As is the earthy, so also are those who are earthy; and as is the heavenly, so also are those who are heavenly.49Just as we have borne the image of the earthy, we will also bear the image of the heavenly.

The Mystery of Resurrection

50Now I say this, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable.51Behold, I tell you a mystery; we will not all sleep, but we will all be changed,52in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet; for the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed.53For this perishable must put on the imperishable, and this mortal must put on immortality.54But when this perishable will have put on the imperishable, and this mortal will have put on immortality, then will come about the saying that is written, “DEATH IS SWALLOWED UP in victory.55“O DEATH, WHERE IS YOUR VICTORY? O DEATH, WHERE IS YOUR STING?”56The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law;57but thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

58Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your toil is not in vain in the Lord.

It is striking how over and over this word Participation appears in the New Testament.
We are told that we are made partners of Christ. In Romans 6, we are given to
understand that His Cross is our Cross; His tomb, our tomb. In Ephesians 2, we are Bone of His Bone
    47
made to see that in Him we were raised from the dead, and actually made to sit with
Him in the Heavenlies. Not only that, we are assured again and again that Christ’s
victory is our victory, that we may always overcome the Wicked One because of
Calvary, and our participation in the fruits of the Cross (II Cor. 2:14).
And now again we are startled by the marvelous fact, that we are made to be partakers
of Christ’s sufferings. Peter bids us rejoice over this fact.
Paul, wrote: “I rejoice in my sufferings for you and fill up that which is
behind of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh, for His body’s sake which is the Church”
(Col. 1:24). It was Christ suffering in and through him. The Saviour’s passion is not yet
over. Drops of blood still fall from His brow. It could not be otherwise, this world being great vicarious suffering as the sacrificial Lamb, there upon the Cross, the burden He bore for His children.

“For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also aboundeth by
    Christ.” (II Cor. 1:5).

John! What a list of encouragement! Yes! Yes! Yes! If I (we) could truly grasp what He has done- what He is doing- and what He is yet to do in our lives- my thinking would be transformed! Thank you so much for sharing- I love the thought that we are “bone of His bone”. You’re such a blessing- in my life and so many others.

I know! I read that and its like WOW~ writing it down is more permanent- like a promise/contract that can be looked back at to review- you might forget, misunderstand, or misquote someones words but not if its written down- that – and I love a LIST! 🙂 hugs

There is so much to be thankful for. God is really making every sad thing become untrue. Its way to easy to get caught up in being upset over little things, when there is so many big things to be faithful for.

Oh, how wonderful, this reminder for us: “Is everything sad going to come untrue?” coupled with God’s promises in His Word and in our hearts: Jesus said- “Yes- write this down!” What blessed assurance that everything will be transformed brand new!

Cindy, I really love this post! It’s amazing and so refreshing to know that the Lord is making all things NEW! My favorite verse is Revelation 21:4 “God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and death shall be no more, neither shall there be anguish (sorrow and mourning) nor grief nor pain any more, for the old conditions and the former order of things have passed away.” (AMP)

Awesome site you have here and I’m looking forward to connecting through the #BloggerCareGroup! 😉

Thanks Angie! I love your blog too! Restoration and God’s good future plans for us is one of my favorite things to meditate on when life gets hard. Isn’t that a wondrous promise? The “old conditions” and the “former order of things” WILL pass away! Just thrills me to pieces when I think of it. Looking forward to connecting more with you too! Loved your blog. hugs and blessings!

Hi, I’m Cindy- 35 years of “livin” with my prince charming, Jeff. I’m a home maker, not a house wife, parent of 7, memory maker, mama bear, Nana to 11 & counting, Pastor’s wife and I’m daily amazed by the depths of God’s love.

I love reading, home schooling, encouraging others, playing the piano, worshiping, dating my husband, and planning parties and retreats for our clan. Someday, I really want a horse and learn to play the cello and viola.
