Valentine Daze

February 14, 2012 / Cindy Barclay / "Treasure Trove" Blog Roll

“I so excited!!!  I love Mrs. T____. I love Mrs. N_______  I love Chandler and Shaiyanna- they’re so sweet.  Adelle is my best friend. I love her!  Myka and Nola are really nice to me.  I give all cards to everyone. I love all mommy!!  Ohhhh- They going to love my valentines.  I love all my teachers mommy.  They help me alllll time.  They love candy. They love me.  I love my class mommy.”

Bethany chattered happily as she carefully wrote 37 valentines. LOVE!  While copying the classmate or teacher’s name, she made a comment about how nice they were, or how kind, or how sweet- esecially sweet!  LOVE!  I was caught up in the effervesence of love bubbling out of her like a Lawrence Welk Bubble machine or a newly opened liter of soda!  Bethany was fizzing with purpose.  LOVE!

“I can’t wait to give these mommy!  Noah is really nice too- his name is like my broder and he sits by me.”

“Is Noah sweet too, Bethany?”

Giggling, Bethany answered,  “What?!   Mommy you’re silly.  Noah is a boy!  Boy’s aren’t sweet!”

“If boys aren’t sweet, what are they, Bethy?”

“Mom – mee! – everybody knows boys are handsome!”

Uh oh! 🙂

May we know the height, the depth, breadth and width of the love of our Savior- who laid down His life to save us!

May His love bubble out to everyone we meet!

May we have His heart as we look at others and see how “nice” and “sweet” they are.

Surprising Treasure: We love Him- because He first loved us- faith, hope, and love remain, but the greatest is love!

Bethany, celebrate, God's love, love, perspective, special needs, valentines

Tell Bethany I want to overflow and bubble over with God’s love like she does! I LOVE her sweetness and niceness.

What a Valentine treat to read your message, here, today, Cindy! I’m convinced its the “regular” world that is so tragically disabled in the love department. Just think if science could uncover the “love gene” that Bethany, my cousin Carley, and others blessed with their chromosomal situation demonstrate. I’m certain such boundless love is a foretaste of what we all will be when we “Behold, I (Jesus) make all things new!” I could jump out of my skin, right along with Bethany, in anticipation 🙂 By the way, what a beautiful vessel for God to shine through! Bethany’s eyes, smile and stunning complexion are mesmerizing. Some superb artist should put her face on canvas for the ages to enjoy! She radiates the love of God in Christ Jesus, a winsome child of God, of such is the Kingdom 🙂

Thanks Edy- I love this pic of Bethany- Moriah is so good with photography and seems to be able to get these beautiful- pure shots…. She’s thinking about calling her photography business “THROUGH HIS EYES” because she wants to show through her photography- the beauty in all of His creation!! – It’s either a “love” gene or the fact that hate and prejudice seem to be UNABLE to be hardwired into their brain- 🙂

I love it! God bless Moriah’s photo business. What a gift that hate and prejudice cannot find an entry into Bethany’s brain! I bet that’s part of God’s original creation “very good!”

I’d like to think “very good” meant Adam and Eve were innocent and full of love for each other and God. Then they believed the lie that God was “keeping something from them”…. The times I get discouraged when trying to teach her social skills or if I have to repeat a concept who knows how many times, I remind myself of her basic core- love.

Bethany’s middle names are “people” and “relationships.” She cares. At times she lacks the words to say exactly what she is thinking and feeling, but she never lacks for trying. Bethany cares, she really does.

I know- we’ve often remarked how she is upset when others are upset- she is sad when others are sad.

[panel style=”default” title=”About Cindy” text_align=”left”]Jeff & Cindy

Hi, I’m Cindy- 35 years of “livin” with my prince charming, Jeff. I’m a home maker, not a house wife, parent of 7, memory maker, mama bear, Nana to 11 & counting, Pastor’s wife and I’m daily amazed by the depths of God’s love.

I love reading, home schooling, encouraging others, playing the piano, worshiping, dating my husband, and planning parties and retreats for our clan. Someday, I really want a horse and learn to play the cello and viola.
