Thanksgiving Rainbows!

To say the holidays can be depressing & lonely is an understatement!

Hearts ache with family far from each other, the economic challenges, divorce demanding children’s alternating visits, loved ones in heaven….the list can go on and on.

BUT we still have so much to be thankful for! No matter how difficult our life is, someone has it worse. We can offer our pain up to the One who understands and ask Him to turn our mourning into rejoicing.

If we can begin to rejoice & give thanks, we shift gears into wanting to do something to help someone else- and I guarantee “doing LOVE”  will chase that despondency away and set your feet a dancin’!

Enter: Reece’s Rainbow

This miracle ministry, was founded by Andrea Roberts, after the birth of her son Reece in 2002.  God turned their mourning about the diagnosis of downs syndrome, into a an active, passionate mission. Find Forever Homes for orphans with special needs; especially those with downs syndrome.

Through the ministry alone, over 900+ children with downs syndrome & special needs have found their forever families!

read that again out loud and shout a shout of praise & gladness!!!

53 years ago, God gifted me with my forever family. Thanks to the selfless love & courage of my birth mother, Kathleen, I was placed in a family who embraced me as their own- so you can understand a little, the enormous blessing I believe adoption is!

I  their slogan on the Christmas ornament they’re giving for each $35.00!

“It matters to this one.”

If you’re anything like me, it’s way to easy to get overwhelmed with the need & talk myself out of doing anything because I don’t think my “widows mite” will be enough.

But when we give what we can, just watch what God will do!

Could I humbly beg you to visit Reece’s Rainbow. 🙂 ? (just click on the link Reece’s Rainbow & prepare to be blessed)

What I’d LOVE this Christmas is a Saige (or other orphans) to find their forever family.  Our family is donating $to Saiges fund to Reece’s Rainbow to help fly a child home to waiting hearts.

What better way to look past our own rain and make a Rainbow!

Surprising Treasures:  James 1:27  New Living Translation (NLT)

Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you.

*Footnote- something to think about: In the United States alone, 137 million people claim to be Christians of some denomination.

If only 1% of the Christians in this country adopted just ONE CHILD, 1.37 MILLION CHILDREN from abroad would have loving, Christian families to grow up in.  Of those 1.37 million, 1,869 of those children have DOWN SYNDROME.

My, what statistics! And, what a difference one step, one person, at a time, can make! By that, I also include you and your writing, Cindy. Thanks so much – I look forward to checking the link. Hugs!

Both of us are so grieved by the scourge of abortion- yet many proponents say its better a child never lives if they will be unwanted or an orphan. I’m convinced, as Christians, we are to be practicing “pure religion”. If I can’t physically adopt another child, I can help make their adoption possible- because everyone deserves a forever family! <3

Hi, I’m Cindy- 35 years of “livin” with my prince charming, Jeff. I’m a home maker, not a house wife, parent of 7, memory maker, mama bear, Nana to 11 & counting, Pastor’s wife and I’m daily amazed by the depths of God’s love.

I love reading, home schooling, encouraging others, playing the piano, worshiping, dating my husband, and planning parties and retreats for our clan. Someday, I really want a horse and learn to play the cello and viola.
