Forever Family – Orphan No More

June 29, 2013 / Cindy Barclay / "Treasure Trove" Blog Roll

abandoned“You’re a piece of trash!” ……. …”I never wanted you!”………..  “You ruined my life.” …………….”I should have had an abortion.”……………. “I’m through with you.” …………………”You never do anything right!” …………………. “Why did I ever have kids?”………………. “You’re the biggest mistake I’ve made with my life.”………………. “I wish you had never been born.”

You don’t have to have your parents abandon you physically to become an orphan. Unfortunately, people are orphaned and abandoned in every way imaginable; verbally, physically, socially, emotionally, and mentally.

I feel gut punched when I “see” or “hear” this kind of “murder” of a person;

this stripping away the treasure a person is meant to be….how they’re to be cherished.

It’s an epidemic in this world- from abortion to abuse to euthanasia-

we embrace the lie that life would be better if we could just get rid of “the problem”.

But it so happens- that “problem” is a PERSON- created by and for God, in His image, for His plans.

[Tweet “Every #person is #created by our #Father God for His #plans and good #pleasure. “]

The wound of rejection is deep, the damage almost irreparable- only able to be healed by our True Father’s Love. For our True Father- our Heavenly Father promises when we come to Him- He will adopt us and love us with a fierce, unending love that will never stop working in our lives.

[Tweet “I will not leave you #orphans- I will come to you. #foreverFamily”]

I love John 14:18 it in the Amplified Version

18 I will not leave you as orphans [comfortless, desolate, bereaved, forlorn, helpless]; I will come [back] to you.

The Passion of our Heavenly Father is to make us His sons and daughters. This is the great love He has lavished (don’t you just love that word???) LAVISHED upon us- that we should be called children of God.

Here’s the voice we need to listen to – The voice of our Father:

[Tweet “”‘I will be a Father to you, and you will be my sons and daughters,’ says the Lord Almighty.””]

(2 Corinthians 6:17-18, NIV)

everlastingFather

God says : I’ve loved you with an everlasting love -(Jeremiah 31:3)

I rejoice over you with singing  – (Zephaniah 3:17)

I’ve carved your name in the palms of my hands – (Isaiah 49:16)

I will never leave you or forsake you – (Hebrews 13:5,6)

Nothing can separate you from my love  Romans 8:31-39****

God pursues, woos, calls, searches, romances, cultivates, yearns, and perseveres, His creation to intimate fellowship with Him- to know and be known; this is the core of belonging to family.

Don’t we all want to belong to someone who will love you forever and always, never leave you or let you down, and is committed and able to transform you into the person you were created to be?

Maybe its time to get to know your Heavenly Father!

Ask Him to adopt you! He’s just waiting for you to call Him- “Abba”- Daddy.

Thankful I was Twice Adopted- 1st by Chuck & Joyce,

forever by Abba God!

Of course we see the “orphaned” and the results of “parentlessness” throughout American society. But never had I seen a need for Abba Father anywhere as great as I did in Cuba. On that prison island of 13 million people I witnessed two distinct groups. Those who knew Abba and those who did not. Those adopted into God’s family laughed, smiled, and in spite of very, very difficult lives possess a light-hearted joy that exudes from them Those who are, as yet, outside of Abba’s family have a smile-less dullness on their countenance. Even as I stood on a crowded street corner on a Friday night in downtown Havana, across from the capital building, and watched young and old, all dressed up, with truly no where to go, I did not hear laughter, I didn’t even witness what I call the “party-spirit,” it was just thousands of people walking, some drinking, all looking for something, but not knowing where to look… even though Havana’s historic and full of Abba’s adoptive spirit, Calvary Baptist Church, was only a block away. The church building itself takes up an entire corner of a city block. It’s in very poor condition, but Daddy God is there.
People everywhere need Abba. Let’s tell them about Daddy!

What a wondrous reminder about our Abba Father, who has adopted us into the family! We have such glad tidings to bring to all people, especially those wandering as orphans of every sort. Thanks for this treasure post, Cindy, and for your real-life application, Jeff. I regularly pray for the veil to be lifted from unseeing eyes, so they too can see the One who loves us so.

those who walk in darkness- shall see a great light. Praying that we, as His children SHINE the truth- come out from the dark- come out from the curse- come into the Family- walk into His arms. I love that you pray for the veil to be lifted! “I once was blind but now I see!” hugs Edy 🙂 love you so much!

I never saw it like that before. It certainly makes me see things in a different light. Words spoken cannot be unspoken and the scars they leave behind are so hard to hide. Thank God He is our family and would never be cruel to us like that. Thanks for sharing. Hugs sweet friend. Angela 🙂

Two Kingdoms at war- The Kingdom of Love and Light- compels all to come into our Father’s inheritance and joy- the kingdom of darkness enslaves, embitters, destroys, and debilitates. Rejoicing we’re in His Family- under His care and love! <3 hugs Angela!

Hi, I’m Cindy- 35 years of “livin” with my prince charming, Jeff. I’m a home maker, not a house wife, parent of 7, memory maker, mama bear, Nana to 11 & counting, Pastor’s wife and I’m daily amazed by the depths of God’s love.

I love reading, home schooling, encouraging others, playing the piano, worshiping, dating my husband, and planning parties and retreats for our clan. Someday, I really want a horse and learn to play the cello and viola.
