As C. S. Lewis so eloquently writes, ”

“It means that though the Witch knew the Deep Magic, there is a magic deeper still which she did not know. Her knowledge goes back only to the dawn of time. But if she could have looked a little further back, into the stillness and the darkness before Time dawned, she would have read there a different incantation. She would have known that when a willing victim who had committed no treachery was killed in a traitor’s stead, the Table would crack and Death itself would start working backwards.” (Wikipedia http://narnia.wikia.com/wiki/The_Deeper_Magic_from_Before_the_Dawn_of_Time)
―Aslan describing the Deeper Magic (Chapter 15).[W

Making Him Room

Like children, we are captivated by the wrapping, ribbons, and bows,

While the immeasurable gift of the Father lies tossed at our feet.

This gift, worth more than  gold,  this treasure cast aside

We have no room.

Aching for comfort and joy, we exchange the miraculous for weak magic

Our needs go unfulfilled as we merry-make and play

Weary worn, stressed out, and full to the brim with emptiness

We have no room.

s

Longing for His glory, satisfied with cheap

Misplacing treasure eternal, secured and bought with God’s love

Bursting with busyness, burdens, and blame

We have no room.

s

The Magic of Christmas is making Him room

Clearing the clutter of mind and of heart

Embracing the miracle, adoring His presence

Let us make room.

s

Repeat the sounding joy and sing Gloria

Emmanuel, God is with us- Do we now understand

His favor and goodwill is toward us?

Let us make room!

s

Redemption, Rescue, Restoration to Glory, generously gifted through grace

Love compelling His sacrifice, the deepest depths of love flow unceasing

God’s purest gift, given with no strings attached

Will we make room?

The exchange of deep magic for the cheap…
“For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened… and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like mortal human beings, birds, animals, and reptiles,” (Romans 1:21-23).

[panel style=”default” title=”About Cindy” text_align=”left”]Jeff & Cindy

Hi, I’m Cindy- 35 years of “livin” with my prince charming, Jeff. I’m a home maker, not a house wife, parent of 7, memory maker, mama bear, Nana to 11 & counting, Pastor’s wife and I’m daily amazed by the depths of God’s love.

I love reading, home schooling, encouraging others, playing the piano, worshiping, dating my husband, and planning parties and retreats for our clan. Someday, I really want a horse and learn to play the cello and viola.
