Meet our son, Noah, his wife, Sarah, Silas (4), Nehemiah (2), and Johannah

Our grandsons, Silas (4) and Nehemiah (2) came over to play at our house.

“Nana! Can we play church? I’ll be the preacher and Nehemiah can be the worship leader and you and Bethany and Aunt Moriah and Cadence can be the people who listen to us. You can just call me Pastor Silas or Pastor Barclay- whichever one you want.”

Moriah, Bethany, and I set up the family room with our karaoke machine so Silas could “preach”.  Nehemiah ran to our music room and grabbed a guitar. He began strumming and singing loudly- “Open up the heavens- I want to see You” Silas invited everyone to “come on everybody and take a seat”!

We sang, we clapped, we “had church”! 🙂  Silas stepped up on the raised hearth of our fireplace, microphone in hand.

“ Do we all know God loves us? I’m here to tell you about God and Jesus. And the Holy Spirit. God is awesome! You know that, right?  God loves us and is there for us. The Bible is His Word to us and He tells us everything we need to know”  (ummm- this is from a 4 year old  🙂  )

Moriah asked Silas, “Pastor Silas, what’s your testimony? When did you meet Jesus?”

Silas got serious now- he said earnestly, “Well, that’s easy! I met God when He was making me. He’s really awesome!!! Yep. He said, Silas I’m making you now and I’m going to send you to some really cool parents. Don’t forget me when you get there.”

Moriah and I were speechless.

Think about this for a moment: God knew us BEFORE He made us but we “met” His loving touch- His Father Heart- when He created us.

Have we forgotten the wonder of the miracle? We were given the spark of life!

Have we forgotten we were birthed by Love into our existence?

I’ve always believed God is with us from the moment He spoke conception-

throughout our whole life-

and as we take our last breath here and our first breath in His eternity-

BUT to have a 4 year old say with a matter of fact confidence-

“I met God when He was making me!”

Wow! It took my breath away.

None of us are an accident.

We’re not a random meeting of a sperm and egg.

We are created by our Father God and

He is the Light that sparks our life.

Yesterday, I saw a video that’s going viral that seems to agree with what the Bible says.  Watch this with “wonder” and awe as scientists document the “spark of life”!  It reminds me of the line in Joy to the World–Life and Light to all He brings- risen with healing in His wings!  God lives and He sparked you by His Spirit of love.

Let’s not forget Him, now that we’re here.
