Who Cares What God Thinks?

I think….. I believe….. I read on Facebook…… The evening news reported……My friend said……A recent book I read enlightened me…….The newspaper story alleged……..Statistics prove…..Barna and Bailey Survey reports……My textbook declared…..My teacher  informed me …..

Who Cares What God Thinks?

Certainly not any sources mentioned above and especially not the National Enquirer or People’s Magazine.  lol

The cacophony of society’s speculative sentiments are exhausting.  From Facebook to Twitter- I try to just walk away from debates about current events.  (and not because I don’t have an opinion- 😉 )

I mean REALLY! Come on!

We think we as finite human people can understand the world and it’s multitudinous problems????   I can barely manage my weight, my calendar, and my finances!!!

Who Cares What God Thinks?

I’m thinking the question should be why should I care what people think?

Or even better, why do I think my opinion is infallible?

Christian Family, God of Grace, Special Needs Parenting, Down Syndrome, Joyful Journey

The older I get, the more I realize how little I know!  Only God has the answer to this world’s problems. Only He can save us.

That means I’d better sit up- take notice, ingest, digest, meditate, and SEEK to form my opinions after I align myself with His thoughts.

God’s thoughts- His opinions- His wisdom- His truth is the ONLY ONE worth seeking. Not easy- but deeply good.

[Tweet “The Spirit gives life; the flesh profits nothing. God’s #Word to us is spirit and are #life.”]

I’m sick of “human” opinions; debates, reactions, and hypothesis. I’m tired of “me” based truth.

[Tweet “God’s thoughts and ways are beyond our finite understanding. #GoodGod”]

Who Cares What God Thinks?

I had lunch with my grandchildren at school today and say a poster: The First Rule of Communication is to SPEAK YOUR OWN TRUTH!

What?  Each person has their own truth? Whoa!  What if my truth is I won’t die if I jump off a building because I don’t believe there’s gravity?

silly, empty, human reasoning…..

Christian Family, God of Grace, Special Needs Parenting, Down Syndrome, Joyful Journey

So- whose opinion do I listen to?

Who/What/Where is my Source?

Am I looking for my truth or the truth?

[Tweet “Lord- to whom could we go? You hold the word of eternal #life. #TruthMatters”]

I want- no I need- to quiet my world until the loudest voice I hear is my Savior.

[Tweet “Be still- and know that I AM God. #GoodGod #wisdom”]

His, is the only opinion that matters. His perspective is from the beginning to the end. He is the One who can sort it all out.

He has more than opinion- He holds the truth. His judgments are righteous and executed with mercy and love.

Who Cares What God Thinks?

Everyone who wants truth and wisdom to guide their life.

Surprising Treasure: Consider how great and beyond us our God is: Job 34:4-9

“Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth?
Tell me, if you know so much.
5 Who determined its dimensions
and stretched out the surveying line?
6 What supports its foundations,
    and who laid its cornerstone
7 as the morning stars sang together
and all the angels[a] shouted for joy?

8 “Who kept the sea inside its boundaries
as it burst from the womb,
9 and as I clothed it with clouds
and wrapped it in thick darkness?

Thank you Catherine- if it weren’t for His Words of life- I don’t know where I’d be! There was an old hymn my Grandma and I would sing that I loved-
Sing them over again to me,
      wonderful words of life;
let me more of their beauty see,
      wonderful words of life;
      words of life and beauty,
      teach me faith and duty:

I had lunch with my grandchildren at school today and say a poster: The First Rule of Communication is to SPEAK YOUR OWN TRUTH!

The poster you saw at the school of your grandchildren summarizes the Post Modern culture prevalent in America. No wonder the hostility if everyone defines there own truth.

As Ravi Z says: We need an absolute point of reference – The Holy God

Isn’t that the truth, Tim?!!! At least, I got a chance to talk with the kids about what that meant.
As parents, grandparents, Aunts, and Uncles, I’m thinking we have to work overtime to root out false ideologies and speak God’s truth into younger generation. Talk about a mission field! Blessings to you and Terri!. (BTW- Love Ravi Z!)

      Magnify no other Name

      Magnify no other Name
Open up- open up my eyes to YOU

Be greater than the worries in my life
Be stronger than the weakness in my mind

One of my favorite promises for my future is this: He will give me a new heart and a new mind- and I will see Him in His fullness and know the truth and be finally and fully set free. <3

I love to say, if we understand Him, then He’s not God anymore. We’ll be equals.

[panel style=”default” title=”About Cindy” text_align=”left”]Jeff & Cindy

Hi, I’m Cindy- 35 years of “livin” with my prince charming, Jeff. I’m a home maker, not a house wife, parent of 7, memory maker, mama bear, Nana to 11 & counting, Pastor’s wife and I’m daily amazed by the depths of God’s love.

I love reading, home schooling, encouraging others, playing the piano, worshiping, dating my husband, and planning parties and retreats for our clan. Someday, I really want a horse and learn to play the cello and viola.
