Happily Ever After is Coming

How many of us think about this truth every day?

[Tweet “Our story is written daily- don’t get bogged down in a chapter you don’t like-“]

we’re not at the end of the story- Yet!

Happily Ever After isn’t something Disney movies and fairy tale books made up.

They got their idea from the great Author- God.

jesusstorybookEvery morning- rain or shine- the best part of my day is reading an incredible rendering by Sally Lloyd-Jones; The Jesus Storybook Bible– *where every story whispers His Name.  I’m convinced it should be required reading for everyone! 🙂  Cohen and I just started reading it through for the 4th time since August! He begs- “One more story Nana, the next one is my favoritist of all.”

We had just started over with the Creation Story and my Dad came upstairs.  He listened to us reading for a minute and asked Cohen, “You sure love Nana to read you your Bible Story Book.  What’s your favorite story?”

Without pausing to contemplate, he answered, “Oh, dats easy Papaw Chuck. My favoritist story is the end story- the one where God comes down and makes everything right again!”

My dad didn’t understand his line of thinking and said, “You mean, David and Goliath? or Daniel in the Lion’s Den? Those were my favorite. Are those some of your favorite stories?”

“No.”  Cohen patiently explained. My favoritist story is at the end when God comes to live with His people and wipes away der tears.  That story.”

I’m not sure my Dad really understood what Cohen was trying to explain- but I knew. The Jesus Story Bible tells the meta-narrative in a beautiful way.

God created mankind in His image- He proclaimed it was very good.

Man believed the lie that God didn’t know what was best.

They sinned and became broken.

But God loves us with a Never Stopping, Never Giving up, Unbreaking, Always and Forever Love

God made a plan to redeem, restore, and reclaim His creation. God became man through Jesus and sent His Son to rescue the world.

The Bible isn’t just a story about people and the good and bad things they do.

[Tweet “The Bible is HIS story; His mission to destroy death & sin & rescue His children.”]

He is making everything sad come untrue and one day, will make His home with us again.

All things made new- the end of the story!

Revelation 21 1-4 Then I saw a new Heaven and a new earth, for the first Heaven and the first earth had disappeared and the sea was no more. I saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, descending from God out of Heaven, prepared as a bride dressed in beauty for her husband. Then I heard a great voice from the throne crying, “See! The home of God is with men, and he will live among them. They shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and will wipe away every tear from their eyes. Death shall be no more, and never again shall there be sorrow or crying or pain. For all those former things are past and gone.”

[panel style=”default” title=”About Cindy” text_align=”left”]Jeff & Cindy

Hi, I’m Cindy- 35 years of “livin” with my prince charming, Jeff. I’m a home maker, not a house wife, parent of 7, memory maker, mama bear, Nana to 11 & counting, Pastor’s wife and I’m daily amazed by the depths of God’s love.

I love reading, home schooling, encouraging others, playing the piano, worshiping, dating my husband, and planning parties and retreats for our clan. Someday, I really want a horse and learn to play the cello and viola.
